Bastille haben mit Doom Days einen neuen Song veröffentlicht.
Der Song soll erst der Anfang von etwas Großem sein soll. Wie Sänger Dan Smith beschreibt, steht er für das “abschalten”, einfach alles für eine Nacht ausblenden. Zudem wollen Bastille ein ganzes Album über das Thema machen und haben hierzu eine Doom Days Society gegründet, in der man gemeinsam mit der Band Ideen entwickeln und diskutieren kann.
Das Statement von Bastille:
We wanted it to be really direct and talk about trying to find escapism from our modern anxieties – phone addiction, porn addiction, fake news addiction, climate change denial (to name a few)… turns out there was a shit load to talk about so I wrote about 50 verses for it and then we somehow managed to cut it down to this… hope you like it. Ultimately it’s about switching off for the night.
To go alongside these ideas we’ve created (and want your help to develop) an online space called “Doom Days Society” where we want to share and discuss ideas around the album and its themes. It’s a place for ideas, link to stuff, conversations … I guess it’s whatever we want to make it.
